Lamps in the street:
a row of question-marks
in blank illumination.

Waves on waves –
part of the drift of things.
A sea of various noises.

A cat on the counter
reflective-eyed…
now there is nothing to do.

Breeze in, stranger –
crackling with electric jokes
in the storm of evening.
