to R. and P.
There is a path made for the three of us
down which each one can go alone, explore
to the end of the way. But there is always more
because the path was laid for the three of us,
and there is sun and shade for the three of us,
and one of us will always walk before
and one behind. New turns are still in store,
and I am not afraid for the three of us
whatever comes. Listen, my loves, we three
can circle Saturn, sink in the Milky Way,
and re-emerge in stars of newborn eyes.
For we have our own way. No one can see
our steps, but we can see. There is a day
that we walk down, of one sky, of three skies.
