Song of Welcome 2012

citius altius fortius

Swifter higher stronger than before
the world’s warriors are going to war.
Armies of athletes march to engage
in a mighty contest without rage.
Come youth come maiden: while the skies
are free of envy, scorn and lies,

and the world’s weapons are laid down,
come from all lands to London Town,
come from all seas to the River Thames.
Come in peace to the Great Games.
