Sunlight

Sharp sharp sunlight shimmer sunlight satin sunlight
sunlight of so many kinds
to hatred fury violence a final reply . . .
still butcher, starve to death or kill by rape.
Then, love too, of so many kinds
tenderness affection ardour, so many rare brands of feeling . . .
still let the person rot, the unclaimed make the morgue their home.
Only greed, pleasure-seeking,
looting looting –
look, what rapture, humans ruining humans.
Ah, the spoiled human heart, blind to itself in broad sunlight –
Oh sunlight sharp sharp sunlight shimmer sunlight
lying along a lake sunlight lying back on grass
slipping through windows sunlight slipping over mossy walls
burning into the head sunlight
ah, today you too look sad
fading out, this evening hour . . .
