Uttor-Phalguni
for Kirsty, Rahul, Akash
About the air the sky is born again,
people are next to silence. In the field
a new idea is seen to dawn again.
Within the seed a galaxy has lain
half part of night, and half to be revealed.
About the air the sky is born again.
If you would know the mystery of the grain,
look at the stars. By Time’s one hand concealed
a new idea is seen to dawn again.
And then the play of life, the heart, the brain,
here on a hill. All Nature is its shield.
About the air the sky is born again,
matter is made. Within a poem’s refrain
a moment’s caught, that round and round had wheeled.
A new idea is seen to dawn again.
A house is built. It is the field’s pure gain.
Here is what Time’s other hand may yield.
About the air the sky is born again,
a new idea is seen to dawn again.
